Meet The Team

Amy Katz

Amy is one of the owners of Urban Bark and has been working with dogs since 2010. From walking to grooming to in-home boarding, she's done it all! She has always had a great love and deep compassion for animals so its only natural that she chose this path for her career. She is also a proud mom to a rescue pup, Trooper.

She began fostering dogs in 2014 through Just Paws Animal Rescue, and she will very proudly admit to having foster failed her first time around! Since adopting Trooper, she has continued to foster many dogs and is just happy to know that she has played a small part in making their lives better.

Amy is CPR and first aid certified from St. John Ambulance.

Kyle Hershorn

Kyle is one of the owners of Urban Bark. He has been doing in-home boarding since 2012 and he joined the dog walking team in 2018. He has a true love for dogs and enjoys spending his days with them.

When Kyle is not working with the dogs  you can find him at Sirius Satellite Radio producing a few shows, and you might also hear him broadcasting on one of their sports channels.

Kyle is a proud dad to Trooper, who was his first foster dog 7 years ago. Since then he has fostered countless other rescue dogs in need of help. He is a proud volunteer for Just Paws Animal Rescue and is just happy to help dogs in need.

Kyle is CPR and first aid certified from St. John Ambulance.

Some of you may be lucky enough to have met Ashley in person when she worked in house at Urban Bark. Now she's the girl behind the scenes running our social media. Her and her pup Clover hang out during the days and think up great content for your viewing pleasure!

Emma came on board with Urban Bark in 2021 after a crazy year of lockdowns and restrictions. She started her first shift and it was like we never worked without her. She is super organized and has an amazing way with the dogs! Outside of work, Emma is studying to become a nurse and we always find her knowledge and experience invaluable. She also has a golden retriever, Avery, who she loves working on training with.

Chevy is one of our amazing groomers. She's been with Urban Bark since the summer of 2021 and its like she's been with us since the beginning. With a background in makeup, Chevy is a real artist and it shows in her grooms. She loves hanging out with the dogs in our daycare, and at home she has 2 boston terriers  and a hairless cat that keep her endlessly entertained.

Sam, our manager, has been with Urban Bark since 2018. If you've called us, its likely you've spoken to her. Her fun energy and sense of humour keeps us laughing everyday. Sam has had a love for dogs her whole life. She is a dog mom to Zuko and a cat mom to Elenor. Zuko has had some behavioural issues and Sam has worked tirelessly with him and a trainer to make sure Zuko is living his best life and on his best behaviour. He loves his cat sis and they make really sweet videos together!

Sam is pet first aid certified through Paws and Leashes Pet First Aid

Lindsay joined our team after a long year of restrictions and lockdowns. She was managing a paint supply store and really wanted a change of pace. She has a blue heeler, Cici, that she loves and adores like her own child. Her managerial experience and her calm energy keeps us centred at the end of every hectic day!

After over a year working at Urban Bark, Lindsay has made the switch to our Urban Bark Dog Walking team. She loves being outdoors with the pups everyday and the transition has been seamless!

Kiana is one of our amazing groomers. She loves grooming and working with the dogs more than anything else! She is always up for a challenge but also loves beautifying her regular pups. She's a proud dog mom to a toy poodle, Seven, who Kiana practices her colour skills on, so she might look a little different every time you see her!

Michelle is our loving and talented bather. She was working in retail for over 10 years at the same store but she needed a change and longed to work with dogs. One day she knocked on our door looking for a job and the rest is history. She is kind, patient, and loving towards all our grooming pups and when she gets a break you can find her in daycare soaking up the dog love!
